Dispersed Camping (Mount Shasta, North)

Dispersed camping and overlanding location on the north side of Mount Shasta, California offering open forest surroundings and clear views of the mountain. The area shows signs of a past burn, with scattered trees and more open space that allows for great sightlines toward Mount Shasta.

Access is via dirt roads that are generally manageable, with multiple spots available to set up camp among the trees. The openness of the area makes for excellent views, but also less shelter compared to denser forest. A nearby rail line runs through the area, so occasional train noise can be expected, especially at night.
